I was watching a video that was showing a Lamb Hass tree and the guy was measuring the value of that. He started with “It produces about 150 avocados a year and $2 an avocado the three worth $300/year” REALLY?!!!
I’ve seen some people look in one dimension and miss other aspects. I also have seen some think they can buy homegrown quality avocados from supermarket or even ranches but that is not the case for avocado fruits.
Some if not most commercial avocado growers generally use methods to increase production and some of those reduce the quality of the fruit even if organically grown. In non-organic farms the excessive use of synthetic fertilizers affect the fruit taste. What about the shade and beauty that an avocado tree can create? You plant a tree and for decades birds, bees and people can enjoy the fruit, shade and its beauty (Of course plus raccoons, possums, rats, cats,…).
If someone think they can buy home grown avocados then don’t interrupt them and respect their opinion but be smart and plant an avocado tree today!
